Why this blog exists
This blog exists to help readers look more deeply into
Scripture—especially the new covenant, church unity, and end-times
questions—through careful, text-based study without denominational or
political filters.
Welcome to CBLF—short for Carbon Based Life Form. This is a personal blog where one ordinary believer wrestles with everyday life and the questions life naturally raises.
In recent years, those questions have increasingly turned toward Scripture. I’ve found myself re-examining long-held assumptions, questioning inherited teachings, and searching for the truth of God’s Word without denominational filters.
My name is Roger, and like everyone else, I’m simply a carbon-based life form making my way through life. I live in Port Hope, Ontario, Canada. I’ve made my share of mistakes and more than a few bad decisions along the way. Eventually, those experiences led me to a season of honest re-evaluation and a sincere desire to make sense of it all. That journey brought me back to my Christian roots.
This time, however, I didn’t want to accept beliefs simply because I was born into them. I wanted to examine them as an adult—thoughtfully, carefully, and honestly. Over the years, I’ve been troubled by teachings that seem to divide rather than unite the universal church: ideas such as two separate peoples of God, sharp dispensational divisions within Scripture, or modern political alignments presented as biblical prophecy. This blog is my attempt to explore those assumptions openly, always returning to the text itself.
Here you’ll find reflections on topics such as:
-
Political issues and decisions that affect everyday life
-
The subtle ways deception can creep into everything—including doctrine—through unexamined traditions
-
The nature of sin, redemption, and whether anyone is truly beyond God’s reach
-
Unity in Christ versus systems that continue to separate Jew and Gentile
-
Critiques of popular eschatology and end-times frameworks
Everything here is written from a posture of ongoing learning. I don’t claim to have all the answers. But as a believer, I consistently return to Scripture, trusting that the inspired Word of God provides the clarity and direction we need. My conviction is that Scripture should challenge us—we should not reshape it to fit our assumptions.
My hope is that these posts encourage you to search the Scriptures for yourself (Acts 17:11), test everything (1 Thessalonians 5:21), and pursue the oneness Jesus prayed for in John 17.
If something here resonates with you—or challenges you—you’re welcome to comment. I read every response and value honest, thoughtful discussion.
Thanks for stopping by.
May we all continue to grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord (2 Peter 3:18).
